Memorial Day Remembrance
Wow!! We did a really cool thing this morning! Wentzville has been hosting the bikers that travel to D.C. for Memorial Day for 20 years...they serve them all (about a thousand) dinner when they arrive in Wentzville, and then breakfast again in the morning before a memorial service at the 1st Vietnam memorial Wall outside of D.C. right here in Wentzville. The Shell station here in town fills every one of their gas tanks for free before they leave also. Wow!! It is very moving to see so many men and women stand at attention in front of the memorial. It happens right next to Kate`s school in front of the Firestation, so all of the kids from Immanuel Lutheran, all of the businesses, policemen, fireman and residents, line the streets with flags. The city puts flags on both sides of Pearce Blvd. from end to end. It was amazing!! The Holt High School band played the National Anthem. The whole town was involved. Really cool! This was the 1st time I have ever joined in...I am embarrassed to say. BUT...from now on, it will be a tradition that the girls and I will never miss! Thank you to all of our Military men and women for your service to this country, we all owe you so much!!!

Can't wait to see pics from your vacation...see you soon.
You do realize it's nearly September and you've neglected to blog your summer...
