Christmas Programs

Well, the girls had their Christmas Programs and they were soooooo cute!! Kelsey carried Baby Jesus down the aisle and showed her bloomers to the whole audience. Kate' was an Angel and sang so beautifully!! Kelsey's last day of school was on Wednesday, she had a Christmas party and had so much fun that she was still asleep when I went to pick her up, we had to wake her up!! Kate' has 1 day of school left this week and it is pretty much just a big party day. She gets to eat pizza in her room for lunch, and then have a big Christmas party. She is really excited about that! Kelsey has been to the Doctor a few times this month. She has a sinus infection, so is now on Penicillin. Hopefully will feel better real soon. We are really looking forward to Christmas and Grandpa coming home from Afghanistan for good!!! Merry Christmas!

Chad will be real happy that this was the 4th photo!! They always have so much fun digging all of the junk out of the pumpkin! Now I am tagging everyone else to play this game with us. Can't wait to see your photo!

Disney 2008

Well, we had a great time at Disney World!! It was Christmas at Disney already! How beautiful it was!! We made it to MGM Studios, Magic Kingdom and Epcot. It was record high temps (87 degrees) everyday! Quite shocking when we got home...very cold...maybe 40 degrees? The girls had a great time and I can't wait to take them back again!!

Halloween 2008

Well, Halloween started out quite interesting. Kelsey was scared to death of all of the costumes at first. Blood curdling screams were heard throughout the neighborhood! We had to stay away from everyone at first....but then she realized that if she goes to someones door and says "me", she gets CANDY!!! That, she liked!! She didn't want to quit trick-or-treating after that. The girls had a great time and looked oh so cute!!!

Kelsey's 1st Day of School

Kelsey started school on October 22nd. She is going to Mother's Day Out at the First Baptist Church in Wentzville. I was offered 2 days a week, but couldn't do it yet. She is going on Wednesdays from 9am-2pm. She was so excited. She couldn't wait to put her backpack on and carry her lunch! It was so cute!! Mommy had a good day too!
I got a lot done, (reorganizing stuff) of course I have 2 years to catch up on. I got a good start though.

May 2008

May was quite an exciting month for us! Mother's Day started it off, Kate` graduated from Kindergarten, Kate` had her 3rd Ballet Recital and we went to Tennessee and North Carolina for Vacation!! It was a great Month. On Mom's Day, Chad was in N.C. for his 2 week summer camp, so Kate` took good care of me. She made me breakfast in bed (cereal), brought me a flower, a pack of pink and purple golf balls, a balloon and a Mother's Day cake. Then her and Kelsey cuddled in bed with me. It might have been the best possible Mother's Day ever!! Kate`s ballet recital was awesome! She has such grace up on stage. She is definitely the best dancer in her class, and she looked so beautiful. Grammy was able to come and watch also. That is always a treat! Kate` also graduated from Kindergarten. That was kind of bitter-sweet for me. I can't believe how fast time is going. Her class put on a great program, we got a wonderful DVD of Kindergarten Memories (pics of the kids taken throughout the year, and her diploma! She is a great student so far, the best reader in her class! She will read any book that you give her. The day after "the last day of school", we left on Vacation!!! That was such a great trip, I will have to have a separate post just for it. I will get to work on it real soon!

Memorial Day Remembrance

Wow!! We did a really cool thing this morning! Wentzville has been hosting the bikers that travel to D.C. for Memorial Day for 20 years...they serve them all (about a thousand) dinner when they arrive in Wentzville, and then breakfast again in the morning before a memorial service at the 1st Vietnam memorial Wall outside of D.C. right here in Wentzville. The Shell station here in town fills every one of their gas tanks for free before they leave also. Wow!! It is very moving to see so many men and women stand at attention in front of the memorial. It happens right next to Kate`s school in front of the Firestation, so all of the kids from Immanuel Lutheran, all of the businesses, policemen, fireman and residents, line the streets with flags. The city puts flags on both sides of Pearce Blvd. from end to end. It was amazing!! The Holt High School band played the National Anthem. The whole town was involved. Really cool! This was the 1st time I have ever joined in...I am embarrassed to say. BUT...from now on, it will be a tradition that the girls and I will never miss! Thank you to all of our Military men and women for your service to this country, we all owe you so much!!!

January & February 2008

Sorry it has been so long since I last updated my blog. I think that most of January we were all sick. Of course we took turns, which really drug it out! I just received an email from my Father-in-law that said I needed to change my blog....he is sick of my song "Wonderful Christmastime". Imagine that!! It is wintertime, we do not do much, so I will not bore you all with the details, BUT, I will tell you this...Kelsey is a very, very, very, active little girl!! Hope all is well with all of you!

November and December 2007

I can't believe that it is New Years Eve already!! The holiday's flew by once again. I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas!!
I guess I will just get right to it. The best part of November was...Chad coming home from Iraq!! That is the best present that we received! We got to stay at the Wolf Lodge in Kansas City when he got home. It has a huge indoor waterpark. The girls loved it! Then on to Thanksgiving. The Wilson family all got together, except for Dad, and had a wonderful time. Wade and Jenny brought a Turduckin (not sure of the spelling) to eat. That is a chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey...TURDUCKIN!! It was quite good. Thanks Wade and Jenny, and Mom for all the great food! We really had a great time. Two weeks later, we celebrated Christmas with my family, the Willards. We went to Minnesota for a long weekend. My whole family, except for my Niece Jennie and her boyfriend Darrin, were there. Steve and Robyn hosted our Christmas feast this year. It was wonderful!! You really did a great job Robyn! Thanks! We just missed the ice strom in Wentzville by one day. Lots of power outages and damage in our area. Good thing we were in the greatest place in the world...yes...Minnesota!! We stayed very busy the rest of December, between Cheerleading, Ballet, shopping, parties and regular day to day activities, it was quite busy! Kate` had a great time counting the days down to Christmas on the Advent calander. 1st thing she did every morning. On Christmas Eve, we went to Church and Kate` sang with here class. I swear that my girls were the cutest in the whole wide world that night!! At bedtime, Kate` could hardly contain herself. She was sooooooo excited. But, she said to me, " I have to go to sleep, or Santa won't come". So at least she didn't fight bedtime! Christmas morning was a blast! There is nothing better than seeing the excitement on your childrens faces!! I am sure that Chad and I actually enjoyed watching them more than they had fun opening the gifts. Kelsey started getting into tearing the paper after a couple of gifts, but she would still rather take the lights and ornaments off of the tree. Monster... Moose still really gets into Christmas. He wants to open everyone's presents. He gets more excited than anyone!
All in all, we had a great Christmas and hope to have an even better New Year! To all of our family and friends out there...we hope you have a healthy, happy and safe New Year! Hope to see you all very soon!
Love,
The Wilson's

October

Wow, October has been a whirlwind month! I will start where I left off. A week after my parents left, we left for Florida!! Grandpa Wilson got to come home from Afghanistan for some training, Kate` had a long weekend due to Parent-Teacher Conferences, so we went to Florida to spend the weekend with Grandpa. We had so much fun!! First of all, it was Kelsey's 1st flight. Boy was I stressed out about that! Traveling alone with th 2 girls really started to freak me out about 2 days before we left. Kate` is easy....but Kelsey....she is my monster! She does not like to be still, not even for a minute. I knew take-off and landing was not going to be fun. On Thursday in the gate area at STL, she was screaming! We scared so many people. I really think they were all thinking about taking the next flight! Well....she did ok. Had a couple of moments, but did much better than expected. Friday, we went to SeaWorld. Kate` loved everything. We had a great time! Kelsey loved the Dolphin and Shamu shows. She would get real happy and clap and laugh. Grandpa had fun watching her! The rest of the weekend we spent on the beach and at the pool. We had wonderful weather. We left on Monday morning, and by Tuesday they were talking about a hurricane. I guess I just draw those things in (Katrina). Kelsey did fine on the way home, but boy were we all tired! We did get some good tan lines too, now maybe Daddy won't be tanner than us!
When we got home it was time for Halloween. Kate`s favorite holiday. I really don't know why it is her favorite, she is very picky about her candy, and after trick-or-treating down the 2 side streets (courts), her feet hurt so she always wants to quit. I think she got about 30 pieces of candy this year, and ate maybe 3 of them. I guess it is all about dressing up. She was Sharpay, from "High School Musical", this year. She absolutely loves that movie! Kelsey was the hand-me-down Sully, from "Monsters Inc.". She truely fits the costume! My little monster. She loves to climb on everything and get into everything...and I mean everything. Well, I could go on and on about our October festivities, but I won't. I have lots of pictures if you want to see them!! Dad, we had a great time with you in Florida and here in STL. Thanks for everything! Have a happy fall everyone!

October 07

Just thought that I would add a couple of pics from our annual trip to Illinois for Pumpkin picking. We had a great time, although it was 90 degrees. Glad that Oma and Opa were here to share it with us since Daddy is gone. We sure missed him on the trip! Here is a pic of Chad also. He is doing well, but can't wait to come home. He loves getting emails and hearing about what is happening with everyone at home. Email him if you get a chance. chad.wilson@krab.centaf.af.mil
Happy fall everyone!

September 2007

Kelsey had her 1st Birthday! Boy was it fun. She had a great time with the cake. It was all over her, from head to toe. At the end, she picked it up and put it in her lap, then threw it on the floor. We had a party on the evening of the 14th. Oma and Opa were here for it and Grammy came out also. Plus a few good friends. We sure missed Chad and Grampa though. It just wasn't the same! Kate` was a wonderful big sister. She really helped make it special! Everything is about Kelsey for her. So cute. Kelsey also got her Pottery Barn Chair in bright pink for her big day. She loves it! She loves to climb all over it and then go head first off of the side. She thinks that is great!

August 2007

Well August was a busy one! Don't I say that every month?? It started out with a family wedding. Wow, was it beautiful! Chad's brother Heath got married on August 4th to Pearl Bramstead. It was such a fun week of festivities!! Kate` was a flower girl, and she was absolutely adorable. Chad was a Best Man, and looked great too!
The girls had a lot of fun with their Grandpa Jack while he was home from Afghanistan also. A couple of weeks later, Kate` started Kindergarten! She is going all day, 5 days a week. Quite an adjustment for us all! She loves it though, and loves her teacher Mrs. Liefer. She is just out of college and guess where she is from????? The most beautiful state in the country....you guessed it, Minnesota!!!!
Well, after a week of school, we had to say "good-bye" to Daddy. Chad left for Iraq the last week of August. Kate` had a really hard time saying goodbye. It made it pretty tough on me and I am sure Chad also. August was pretty bittersweet for us, but time will go by fast and then Daddy will be home again. Keep Chad in your prayers!

July 2007

I know, I know, this is a little late, it is almost September already, but here goes!
July was just a fun month. Kelseys first experience with fireworks was not good. She didn't care for the high pitched ones at all!! Kate` spent quite a bit of time at the neighborhood pool with her friends and had a couple of birthday parties to go to. That was pretty much the month.....UNTIL....GRAMPA came home!!! What a wonderful treat that was!!! Kate` helped me decorate his condo with streamers, balloons and a welcome home banner. Then we stuck a few items in the fridge for his short stay at home. It was a lot of fun getting the condo ready for his homecomming! The August update will be coming soon, I promise. It should be quite a long update. It was a crazy busy month!! LYA

June 2007

Wow! What a busy month June was! It went so fast. We went to Six Flags, the Zoo, a local carnival, had my big 40th Birthday, Chad's Birthday, Kate`s big 5th Birthday, (that actually lasted about a week), and a wedding in Waterloo Iowa, and I am sure that I have missed a few things here and there. Oh yea, like the Baseball game, the church picnic, Ryan's 1st birthday party, Vacation Bible School, Day camp for a week and several doctors appointments due to both girls having ear infections and eye infections, Kelsey's 9 month check-up (she weighs 20 lbs. and is 28 1/2 in. long) , Kate`s 5 year check-up (she is 40 lbs.), and I joined the YMCA and have been working out all month! See, I turn 40 and my mind is already gone!!
Well, on that note, what a great party my darling husband threw me! He ordered 60 lbs. of crayfish from Louisiana and had it delivered the morning of my party. Invited all the neighbors and our friends, Heath and Pearl even got to come, and had a great surprise party for me. It was so much fun! If you know Chad, he is not the kind of person that normally plans such events, but he worked his butt off for this one. He did a great job! I have 2 years to plan something really unique for his birthday. I really don't think I can top mine, any ideas, let me know!
Kate` had her big 5th birthday, all week long! She had a great time. Grammy came over the night of her birthday and celebrated with us. Her (friend) birthday party was on Thursday at Playtime Party Center, which is like Chuck E. Cheese. She loved it!! She had 11 of her friends come, and they had a great time!
We also made a trip to Waterloo, IA (where we used to live) for a wedding. Our old neighbors son's wedding. It was a lot of fun to see everyone again. Kate` and Kelsey just fell in love with Russ, I think he kind of liked them too. He kept buying Kate` everything she wanted! Russ and Kathy are just absolutely great people. We sure do miss them!!
Well, that is about it. We had a great month, hopefully you all did too! We love and miss you all!!

May 2007

Hmmmmm. I don't even know where to start. May was one crazy month! When I look back at my folder of May, there is so much I don't even know where to start. I guess it all started with Kate` graduating from preschool. I can't even believe that I now have a kindergardener! They had an end of the year program at school and it was just wonderful. Her teacher made her a scrapbook for the whole year. It is just adorable! Kelsey started crawling on May 23rd. She is quite quick, she can be gone in an instant! She loves the independence that she has now.
Kate` also had her Ballet/tap recital this month. She is such a graceful ballerina. I don't know where she gets it from though. She did such a wonderful job! Uncle Wade, Aunt Jenny and the kids and Uncle Heath and Pearl all came home for Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time with all of them. We went to see Shrek the 3rd. Not as good as the first two, but it was so fun to go with the cousins. Riley and Kate` had a blast at the theater, the giggled and giggled during the whole movie. Too cute!! After the Wilson family visit, Uncle Steve and Auntie Becky came to visit for a couple of days. We went to Soulard to the Farmers Market, which was actually terrible, there were only a couple of open booths. The prices were great though! Then we drove down to Kimswick and had lunch at the famous "Blue Owl". It was good, but not fabulous (except for the spinach soup...that was fabulous. Thanks Beck!). They were just on Paula Dean (Food Network) I guess. They made a huge deal out of that! We had a lot of fun spending time with Uncle Steve and Auntie Becky though. Thanks for coming down. Well, I guess that is it for May, June is very busy too. Hope to get the blog updated sooner this time. Have a great summer!
