March/ April 2007

Where do I begin....I can hardly even remember March! We had quite a month. We were fortunate enough to have Kate` and Kelsey's cousin Riley come and visit and play with Kate` all day long! It was so much fun to have her here. I know Kate` really enjoyed it. Wish we could have seen her and Cade more but I wasn't having a very good month. I couldn't walk for some of it. That was very interesting to say the least! My Crohn's disease was very active in March, one side effect was that my ankles and feet swelled to 3 times the size of normal and hurt just as bad. Good thing it was a warm month, I couldn't fit into any of my shoes. Even flip flops were hanging halfway off. I had another colonoscopy and the doc was not pleased with the results. I am now on a new medicine called Humira. I will be giving myself a shot every 2 weeks from now on. It has only been FDA approved for a couple of months, so pray that it works!! My feet got better after going back on a very large dose of Prednisone. So glad to walk once again, just in time for our Spring break vacation to the Smoky Mountains. It was beautiful! We had wonderful weather and a gorgeous cabin in the mountains. I could live there!! We went with some friends of ours (our primary doctor) so I was well cared for on the trip. Kate` went mini-golfing with them and got 2 holes in one. We had lots of fun, especially at night when the kids were all asleep and we could grab the wine bottle and head for the hot tub on the deck. Nothing better than that! A few days after we got home, my parents came to visit for 11 days! Kate` kept them extremely busy and worn out every night. They had a blast! We went to Grants Farm, mini-golfing and Cuivre River State Park. Kate` is our little golfer, she got 3 holes in one this time. I think it is time for golf lessons! Kelsey just loved all of the extra attention she got. She is the smiliest little girl. She is rolling all over the place and starting to scooch on her belly to get where she wants to go, and she is moving fast. I can't believe how big she is getting....already!! She is making really funny noises now when she laughs, and she is laughing all of the time. Kate` is the best big sister. She loves Kelsey so much. She is a huge help to me! We are sooooooo blessed!! Hopefully now that I am doing better healthwise, and everything is slowing down, I can get back to updating our blog a little more regularly. I promise I will try. Hope everyone is doing well!
